Pokemon Fire Red is was launched in 2004 and it is a remake version of the Game Boy role-playing video game Pokémon Red which was launched in 1996. In the previous version, the player controls the player character from an overhead perspective and participates in turn-based battles whereas in the new version the player has to be in a third-person, overhead perspective and the main screen is the overworld, in which the player navigates the protagonist.
In the previous version, the player catches the pokemon and raises them to use in the battle, and in the new version, they do other things as well with the Pokemons.
Along with these things in the new version, the developers have added a contextual help menu and there are some new regions where the player may access after a point of time as the storyline goes. The best up-gradation is the game has compatibility with the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter and it originally came bundled with the game.

Mostly the game got positive reviews and obtained a score of 81 percent on Metacritic. The game offers some new features while maintaining the traditional gameplay of the series and this thing has been praised by most of the critics. But according to some reviewers, the graphics and audio of the game were more mixed and that is a bit disappointing because it was too simplistic and lacked improvement compared to the previous games. - Generation II and III movers are also available now in this version.

- Now the players can re-challenged the Elite four, with new Pokemon teams consisting of at least one Generation II Pokemon.
- Some Pokemon have been moved from their original location to One Island’s Kindle Road and Mt. EmberPonyta, Magmar (LeafGreen only), and Moltres.
